Icebreaker in the Bay

Maven Takes San Francisco!

300 nautical miles through the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and 80 days later and we were headed for the Golden Gate Bridge!

Okay, us Mavens weren’t at sea for 3 months, but we were so excited to be involved from shore!

Icebreaker NZ has been a long-time client of ours, and a huge part of their business mission is to educate on the importance of sustainability and choosing natural over synthetics. They partnered with long-distance swimmer, Ben Lecomte, and the Vortex Crew to conduct research and bring awareness to the global microplastic issue through an expedition at sea!

Icebreaker NZ, was set to host a 2-part homecoming event in San Francisco, California, and not only did we get to invite local influencers, we got to attend as well!

I could write about all the fun that we packed into this Labour Day weekend, but a (wise) man once said that pictures speak louder than words, so check it out!

It happened to be my birthday so we had a little in-flight celebration! Wine not right?
Fully embraced the ‘tourist life’ and biked the Golden Gate Bridge this foggy morning!
6 Krispy Kreme donuts were demolished in a timeframe we are too embarrassed to share. Not sure I have ever seen my bosses smile this big!
Everyone eagerly waiting for Ben’s arrival at Crissy Field Beach!
The beautiful Golden Gate Yacht Club for the invite-only portion of the event. Look at that VIEW!
After working together for months via email and video calls, it was such a treat to finally meet author, influencer, and Icebreaker ambassador, Kathryn Kellogg, in person! Check out her awesome blog >

Thank you Icebreaker for having us be part of this awesome event and initiative! Spending some time out of the office enjoying this beautiful city was the perfect refresh heading into another quarter of the year! Where to next Mavens?
