Economic Developers Alberta (EDA) is Alberta’s leading economic development network, providing essential resources to individuals and organizations as they create thriving communities. The Xperience Leaders’ Summit and Conference is one of EDA’s key annual events, bringing together economic development experts and elected officials for 3 days of economic updates, exclusive keynote speakers, and interactive networking opportunities.
Maven partnered with EDA for several in-person and virtual conferences since 2020, culminating in their 50th anniversary event. We helped make their vision a reality by providing A/V services across 5 event rooms — while also live-streaming sessions to virtual attendees.
Maven incorporated moving light fixtures into the stage design to increase the production value and create different scenes for the conference, leaders summit, awards dinner, and speaker walk-ups. We covered the stage with two 4k broadcast cameras and our broadcast flypack kit, which gives us the full flexibility of projector screens, dual presenter monitors, livestream feed, and multiple record feeds.
The main stage was complemented by four breakout rooms, each of which required AV, recording, and live streaming. Maven ensured these rooms had the necessary equipment and support crew to provide a smooth experience for both presenters and attendees. Maven also recorded and live streamed the breakout rooms to allow in-person attendees to catch up on any concurrent sessions they missed.
Maven provided our own livestream player and integrated it with Whova, giving attendees a top quality live stream of each session. In addition to the in-person sessions, the EDA studio hosted live interviews with speakers, exhibitors, and guests to provide continuous content to the main stage livestream.
Within days of the event, we delivered all session recordings to EDA to share with their attendees. Our streamlined live production kits made this fast turnaround of 20+ hours of content possible.
Through ambitious live production and a seamless streaming experience, Maven helped EDA elevate their annual Leaders’ Summit and Conference to new heights — all while giving Alberta’s economic development professionals a place to discover new opportunities.
