Connect. Learn. Celebrate.

The Alberta College of Family Physicians (ACFP) is the voice for family physicians in Alberta, representing 5,600+ members across the province. Since 1955, the ACFP’s Family Medicine Summit (Summit) has united physicians, residents, medical students, and researchers to build community and exchange best practices in family medicine and primary care. Today, whether attending in person or virtually from elsewhere around the world, the same principles remain intact.

For their 2023 and 2024 Summit, ACFP partnered with Maven to provide A/V support and live streaming services for the entire weekend.

Hybrid Event Solutions

The Main Stage

The Summit's main stage posed a complex production challenge, combining dynamic in-person presentations with simultaneous live streaming. Maven managed this by providing comprehensive live sound reinforcement, projection, and presenter support, while also handling live switching between two cameras, slides, and a side-by-side layout. Our encoders streamed the event live to the client's online platform, and we recorded each session for a quick turnaround post-event. These services ensured that remote audiences and future viewers could fully experience the event.

Four Breakout Rooms

The Summit extended into a series of breakout rooms across the venue. Maven recorded these additional rooms, including presenter slides and high-quality audio.

Live Streaming Services

Maven live-streamed all of the main stage’s presentations, allowing approximately 175 remote attendees to take part in the Summit.

Post-Event Recordings

After the Summit concluded, Maven edited and polished the session recordings captured over the weekend. These recordings were made available to all attendees, giving them the opportunity to revisit insights provided throughout the weekend.

A Successful Summit

With over 600 in-person and virtual participants, Maven’s live services helped ACFP host a series of impactful Family Medicine Summits — contributing to the further advancement of Alberta’s family practices.

What ACFP has to say

Maven took the time to understand our needs and worked with us every step of the way. We finally found a partner who could not only met our needs but could anticipate and offer innovative solutions to deliver the hybrid experiences our attendees come to expect from us.
