Case study: Updating a visual brand identity and creating new digital content

About the foundation

With the vision to one day see a world free of neurological disorders, Branch Out is a non-profit organization focused on funding tech and non-pharmaceutical research across Canada. Our team worked with Branch Out to further develop their brand and take their annual events to new heights.

Foundation explainer video

Branch Out needed a video to quickly explain the foundation's purpose and vision. We worked with the Branch Out team to refine their message and develop a simple explainer video. We developed the graphics, produced the voice-over, and brought it all to life in a short 90-second video.

Branding

After nearly 10 years of building the foundation, their team was looking to refresh the brand’s visual identity. This included creating new design elements such as colours, patterns and textures, that would showcase their unique brand personality but still speak to a professional audience. We redeveloped their brand guidelines book to set the baseline for future Branch Out material.

Social media

We worked with Branch Out to update their social media strategy with a new focus on quality over quantity. We connected with their ‘branchies’ on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter through eye-catching graphics and simplified neuroscience content to produce fun social content weekly.

Event creative

The event that started it all - The annual Branch Out Bike Tour. This 2-day fundraiser in Panorama, BC, attracts over 300 riders every year and has raised over 1.8 million dollars since the first tour in 2010. We were tasked with creating the visual materials for the 2019 and 2020 events, which included promotional materials such as posters, social media ads, and banners.

2019 event recap video

We also created a video to showcase how the weekend is so much more than a bike ride through the mountains. From filming alongside bikers to capturing the keynote speakers at the gala, we made sure to not miss a moment.

Your Brain on Art 2021 Virtual Event

While this event is normally held in person, we worked with the Branch Out  team to take their science and art gala virtual. This included working to develop a formal run-of-show, pre-recording key segments of the event, and setting up the platform with pre-edited videos and content from artists and scientists around the country. The live show was streamed in the same location as the pre-recorded segments to create a seamless viewer experience and included a live host, a live painting showcase, and an interactive virtual auction.
